Five and a half hours. That's how long it takes to fly nonstop from Delhi to Singapore — roughly the same time it takes to drive from Delhi to Jaipur on a bad traffic day. What most Indian travellers don't realise is that you can do it for ₹22,000 ($234) return in July, on Air India, with 23 kg checked baggage already included. The same ticket in December costs ₹40,000–₹48,000. Same airline. Same seat. Same destination. Just a different month.
Air India is the most popular airline on this route, operating 24 nonstop flights per week from Delhi to Singapore Changi Airport — more than any other carrier. But Air India isn't always the cheapest headline fare. IndiGo offers nonstop flights too, and its one-way fares start lower. The catch — and it's a consistent one on this route — is that IndiGo's base price excludes checked baggage entirely. Once you add a 20 kg checked bag for a return trip, IndiGo's total cost frequently matches or exceeds Air India's. This guide breaks that comparison open properly, covers the month-by-month price calendar with real 2026 data, and explains the Singapore visa process including a fee change that came into effect January 1, 2026 and has not been covered anywhere for Indian travellers.
We compared fares on FlyFlick with major Indian booking platforms — and found savings of ₹1,000–₹2,500 on most international routes. Search below and compare yourself before booking anywhere else.

Singapore Changi Airport, 5h 30m from Delhi by nonstop flight, has been rated the world's best airport for 12 consecutive years by Skytrax — and the terminal experience alone is worth arriving early for.
Current Delhi to Singapore Flight Prices in 2026
The table below shows verified economy return fares from Delhi (DEL) to Singapore Changi (SIN) as of April 2026. These are booking-window prices for travellers searching 6–10 weeks out — not theoretical minimums.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Air India | ✅ Yes | 5h 30m | ₹22,000–₹32,000 | $234–$340 | 23 kg checked ✅ |
| IndiGo | ✅ Yes | 5h 35m | ₹20,000–₹30,000 | $213–$319 | Cabin bag only ❌ |
| Singapore Airlines | ✅ Yes | 5h 25m | ₹24,000–₹38,000 | $255–$404 | 30 kg checked ✅ |

| Vietnam Airlines | 1-stop (Hanoi/HCMC) | 9–12h | ₹20,000–₹30,000 | $213–$319 | Varies |
| Malaysia Airlines | 1-stop (KL) | 8–10h | ₹18,000–₹28,000 | $191–$298 | 30 kg checked ✅ |
Prices are approximate return economy fares per person. Currency conversion at ₹94 = $1 USD. Prices fluctuate daily — use FlyFlick's search to verify live fares before booking.
The cheapest round-trip flight from Delhi to Singapore recently found on Google Flights was with Air India from ₹22,077, while the cheapest one-way was with IndiGo from ₹14,566. That IndiGo one-way number looks attractive until you add a 20 kg checked bag — typically ₹2,500–₹3,200 per leg on this route — pushing a return total to ₹22,000–₹23,000. At that point, Air India's ₹22,077 return with a 23 kg bag already included is not just competitive, it's cheaper when you do the actual math.
Air India vs IndiGo vs Singapore Airlines — The Real Comparison
Every Indian travel site lists these three airlines. None of them explain the comparison properly for travellers carrying baggage, which is to say: almost everyone.
Air India operates 24 nonstop weekly departures from Delhi to Singapore on a mix of Boeing 787 Dreamliner and Airbus A321neo aircraft. The Delhi–Singapore route runs on the 787-8 on most days — a widebody with a flight time of approximately 5 hours 30 minutes, complimentary meals, and a 23 kg checked baggage allowance on Value fares. It's not the flashiest product, but it's reliable, nonstop, and on most July and August dates, the cheapest full-service option when baggage is factored in.
IndiGo runs 7 nonstop weekly departures from Delhi to Singapore. Its base fares are lower than Air India's on headline numbers, which is why it consistently shows up first on MakeMyTrip searches. IndiGo's cheapest return fares on this route start from approximately ₹17,529 — but that includes zero checked baggage. Adding one 20 kg bag each way brings the real cost to ₹22,000–₹24,000 return. The cabin is narrowbody A321neo — fine for 5.5 hours, but noticeably tighter than the 787. If you're travelling carry-on only, IndiGo wins on price. If you're carrying a checked bag, it almost never does.
Singapore Airlines is a different product category. Singapore Airlines has had the least number of delays on this route over the last 12 months, with about 7% of flights experiencing any delay — the best on-time record of any carrier on the Delhi–Singapore route. Its economy cabin is genuinely superior to both Air India and IndiGo, the 30 kg baggage allowance is the most generous of the three, and the meal service is a level above. You pay for it — return fares run ₹24,000–₹38,000. For leisure travellers, that premium is hard to justify over Air India in July at ₹22,000. For frequent flyers accumulating KrisFlyer miles toward a business class upgrade, or for corporate travellers with a policy that covers Singapore Airlines economy, the case is cleaner.
The honest answer: Air India in July, booked 8–10 weeks ahead, with baggage factored in, wins for most Indian leisure travellers on price, journey time, and convenience. IndiGo wins only for carry-on-only travellers.

Changi Airport's Terminal 1, 2, and 3 all connect to the MRT — a ₹130–₹160 (SGD 2.20–2.60) train journey gets you to Orchard Road or Marina Bay in under 30 minutes from arrival.
Cheapest Month to Fly Delhi to Singapore in 2026 — Full Price Calendar
The Delhi–Singapore route has a cleaner seasonal price pattern than almost any other route from India. July is the cheapest month to fly from Delhi to Singapore, with an average return fare of approximately ₹16,488 on connecting carriers, and ₹22,000–₹24,000 on nonstop Air India. December is the most expensive month. Here's the full 2026 breakdown:
| Month | Avg Nonstop Return (₹) | Avg Nonstop Return ($) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| January | ₹28,000–₹36,000 | $298–$383 | 🟡 Post-New Year drop — decent |
| February | ₹26,000–₹33,000 | $277–$351 | 🟢 Good value window |
| March | ₹30,000–₹40,000 | $319–$425 | 🔴 Holi spike + school holidays |
| April | ₹32,000–₹42,000 | $340–$447 | 🔴 Indian school summer begins |
| May | ₹26,000–₹34,000 | $277–$362 | 🟡 Shoulder — manageable |
| June | ₹24,000–₹30,000 | $255–$319 | 🟢 Good value — book early |
| July | ₹22,000–₹28,000 | $234–$298 | ✅ Cheapest month overall |
| August | ₹23,000–₹29,000 | $245–$309 | ✅ Second cheapest |
| September | ₹25,000–₹32,000 | $266–$340 | 🟡 Moderate — still reasonable |
| October | ₹32,000–₹42,000 | $340–$447 | 🔴 Navratri + Diwali spike |
| November | ₹28,000–₹36,000 | $298–$383 | 🟡 Moderate |
| December | 🔴 ₹40,000–₹55,000 | $425–$585 | Worst month — peak tourism + Indian holidays |
✅ = Book these months | 🔴 = Avoid if budget-sensitive
July and August are cheap for a specific structural reason: Singapore's monsoon peaks in November and December, not July. July has afternoon rain showers — typically 2–3 hours — that clear quickly. The city remains fully operational, all attractions are open, and the hawker centre culture is arguably better appreciated in slightly cooler, cloudier weather than in the peak dry-season heat. Western leisure travellers avoid July. Indian travellers who understand this can fly to one of Asia's best cities for its cheapest prices of the year.
The October and November spike is driven by Indian outbound travel demand during Navratri, Dussehra, and Diwali. These three consecutive festivals push both prices and passenger volumes hard. If you must travel in this window, book at least 10–12 weeks in advance to catch early inventory before fares climb.

Singapore Visa for Indian Passport Holders — Updated January 2026
This is the section that will save some readers from a genuinely costly mistake. Singapore does not offer visa on arrival to Indian passport holders. Indian passport holders are not eligible for Visa on Arrival in Singapore and must apply for a visa in advance before travelling. Every year, a handful of Indian travellers show up at IGI Terminal 3 for their Singapore flight and are denied boarding because they assumed a visa-on-arrival arrangement existed. It doesn't — and Singapore's immigration is not flexible about this.
What changed on January 1, 2026: The Singapore Consulate-General revised its visa fee structure effective January 1, 2026. The official visa application fee is now INR 2,100 per application. In addition, authorised visa agents charge a fixed service fee of INR 1,000 per application. Total cost for most Indian applicants: ₹3,100. This is non-refundable whether the application is approved or not.
The full process:
You cannot apply directly through the Singapore High Commission — all applications must be submitted through the Consulate-General's authorised visa agents. Apply through VFS Global, MakeMyTrip's visa service, Akbar Travels, or another authorised agent. Processing time is 3 to 5 working days from submission — apply at least 2 weeks before travel to build buffer.
Documents required: valid Indian passport (minimum 6 months validity from date of arrival in Singapore), passport-size photographs, confirmed return flight ticket, hotel booking or accommodation proof, 6 months of bank statements, and employment proof (salary slip or business registration). The Singapore visa allows a stay of up to 30 days per visit.
One exception that almost no editorial covers: Indians travelling by air to or from a third country may be eligible for the 96-hour Visa-Free Transit Facility (VFTF) — meaning if you're flying Delhi–Singapore–Sydney, you can stay in Singapore for up to 96 hours without a tourist visa, provided you hold a valid long-term visa from the US, UK, Australia, Canada, Japan, or certain other countries. If you have a valid US or Australian visa and your onward trip takes you through Singapore, this is worth knowing.
One more thing before you land: the SG Arrival Card is mandatory for all visitors to Singapore and must be completed online before arrival — not at the airport. You can complete this through the ICA e-Service portal — Indian travellers who haven't filled this before landing face delays at immigration. Set a reminder to complete it 1–3 days before your flight.

Gardens by the Bay's Supertree Grove light show runs nightly at 7:45 PM and 8:45 PM — free to watch from the outdoor park, with ₹2,200 (SGD 28) for the OCBC Skyway walkway above the Supertrees.
Best Day to Book and How Far in Advance — Delhi to Singapore
KAYAK data shows that travellers who book at least 3 weeks in advance save around 14% compared to booking last minute. For Delhi–Singapore specifically, the sweet spot sits at 6–10 weeks before departure for July and August travel. Air India's 24 weekly departures mean there's more inventory on this route than shorter-haul options — but July still books out by mid-June for the best fares.
Tuesday and Wednesday remain the best days to search for this route. Indian OTA bank cashback offers — HDFC, Axis, ICICI — frequently cycle through midweek activation windows. A 10% cashback cap of ₹1,500 on a ₹24,000 ticket is ₹1,500 in your account within 7 days with zero additional effort. Check your bank's app before paying on any international booking.
One strategy specific to this route: midday departure flights from Delhi to Singapore are significantly cheaper — up to 51% less than evening departures on the same date. Air India's early morning departures and midday options consistently show lower fares than the popular evening-to-overnight slots. If your schedule is flexible, search across departure times, not just dates. A 6 AM departure instead of a 9 PM departure on the same date can save ₹3,000–₹5,000 on a return ticket.
All bookings via FlyFlick redirect to platforms accepting UPI, NetBanking, EMI on Indian credit cards, and standard debit cards. Some international aggregators price this route in SGD or USD and silently add a 2–3% foreign transaction fee. On a ₹26,000 booking, that's ₹520–₹780 avoidable by booking through a platform that processes in INR.
Step-by-Step Booking Strategy for Delhi–Singapore 2026
Step 1 — Target July or August, not October. Both months offer return fares starting ₹22,000–₹24,000 on nonstop options. October is Diwali season — fares jump 30–50% with no improvement in the destination experience.
Step 2 — Calculate baggage-inclusive fares before comparing. If you're carrying a checked bag (most people are), add IndiGo's bag fee (₹2,500–₹3,200 per leg for 20 kg) to their headline return fare before calling it cheaper than Air India. In July, the two airlines frequently land within ₹500–₹1,000 of each other on a true all-in comparison — at which point Air India's wider seat on a 787 is the obvious pick.
Step 3 — Search midday departures. On FlyFlick and Google Flights, check the 6 AM–1 PM departure window separately from the popular 6–11 PM window. The earlier departure often shows a ₹3,000–₹5,000 reduction on the same date.
Step 4 — Apply for your Singapore visa immediately after booking. As soon as your flight is confirmed, submit your Singapore visa application through an authorised agent. Standard processing is 3–5 working days — apply 2 weeks out minimum. Pay ₹3,100 total (₹2,100 official fee + ₹1,000 agent service charge). Complete your SG Arrival Card on the ICA portal 1–3 days before flying.
Step 5 — Sort insurance, delay cover, and eSIM. Before anything else, get VisitorsCoverage locked in — comprehensive medical coverage up to $1,000,000 covering Singapore's private hospitals, which operate at international pricing. Singapore's healthcare is world-class and expensive for visitors without cover. For a budget alternative, EKTA starts from $0.99/day at ektatraveling.com.
For flight delay protection, Compensair covers up to €600 for delays and cancellations on international routes from Delhi — file from your phone, no upfront cost. For eSIM: Saily works in Singapore from $1.99/day with 5G connectivity — activate before boarding so you're connected the moment you land at Changi. If you're continuing from Singapore to other Southeast Asia destinations, Yesim covers multi-country unlimited data on one plan.

A plate of Hainanese chicken rice at Maxwell Food Centre costs approximately ₹280 (SGD 3.50) — Singapore's hawker centres, listed by UNESCO, are one of the world's great street food experiences at remarkably low prices.

Bottom Line
The Delhi–Singapore route gives Indian travellers a rare combination: a genuinely world-class destination, a short nonstop flight, and return fares under ₹25,000 for two months of the year. July and August are the windows. Air India is the airline for most travellers carrying a bag. The Singapore visa costs ₹3,100, takes 3–5 working days, and must be done before you fly — not at the airport.
There's no complexity here. Lock your July or August dates, book Air India nonstop 8 weeks out, apply for the visa the same week you book, fill the SG Arrival Card before you land, and search FlyFlick before confirming anything on MakeMyTrip. Five and a half hours later you're in Changi, and Changi is worth every rupee of the ₹22,000 ticket.
Book smart. Fly cheaper.
